Some days ago, there was really bad wind. I’m talking like, “they gave the storm a name” bad. As I, an unsuspecting student, was making my way downtown, I came across this cute elderly lady. She had just escaped the confines of her car and was loading her groceries on a walking rack - what’s that called? - and the car kept trying to suck her back in. So, the gentlewoman I am, held the car door until she finished and asked if she needed further help... she murmured something negative and proceeded towards a building and that is where my trouble started...
I’ve been thinking right, sometimes elderly people get offended when treated as fragile. And maybe the lady dismissed me like that because she though I was being condescending? But then again, the car was being annoying and she did have the walking thing,so maybe not? However, I would feel terrible if she felt bad, but I still feel terrible because I don’t know. But then I am also not that concerned because what could I care, I was nice. And it could also just be my culture, because we are very direct and you know.... yeah
