DAY TWO / 12:15AM — it’s a quick walk back to your room from the kitchen. however, on your way back to the safety of your room, it appears that wonjin hadn’t closed his door. but what sets off the warning sirens is the overwhelming smell of blood. without your touch, the door opens wider, letting the hallway light in and revealing a nauseating scene. red everywhere. the furniture. the walls. the ceiling. only this time, it isn’t one of your nightmares. this is as real as it gets, darling.
no...it definitely IS a nightmare. what else could the scene possibly be?! how else would the door have opened up to coincidentally blind her with the sea of red, flooding itself in the cabin. eunmi couldn’t think— she couldn’t move. her limbs were numb and she found her vision blurring. the girl sobbed silently, desperately wanting to scream and call out for help. she had decided to go on the trip to enjoy herself in the company of friends, but this was NOT what she meant by that.
in that moment, eunmi was filled with many regrets. she regretted not ignoring her growling stomach. she regretted not just staying in bed. she regretted not waking up jihoon to accompany her. (why did she choose tonight to finally be a big girl and go on her own??) eunmi recalled wonjin flashing his pocket knife in front of the fireplace just hours prior to this moment, but now it was nowhere in sight.
was this her life flashing before her eyes? was it a sign telling eunmi, “you’re next!” where is everyone? how did this happen without anyone realizing?
the questions ran rapidly through her mind until they didn’t. finally, her thoughts were silenced by the piercing sound of her scream.
