Godfinally blessed you with rain.
Summer’sheat had reached its peak early and tending to the gardens became more of a sweat-drenchinghassle than any form of enjoyment. If it weren’t for Saeran’s company, youmight have skipped some days in managing the greenery. It wouldn’t have been thewisest choice but it was you versus the sun and it took every ounce of yourself-control to not shake your fist up towards it.
However,the thought of it being amusing to Saeran couldpossibly still change your mind. He did find your random actions funny, butmost of the time plain cute.
He’dtell you that directly, too, then shower you with an assortment of othercompliments afterwards. You’d take them gratefully yet at the same time makesure you had more to give to him in exchange, nearly making it a silly littlecompetition only you two can participate in.
Asilly little competition you always secretly won when you whispered good thingsabout him while he slept.
Sotoday, with the soft drumbeats of the rain overhead, you watched as Saerancontinued to rest. You woke up first and realized once more that it would beextremely against your mind and your heart to leave him alone, simply becauseyou could not get enough of him. Your index finger gently traced the outline ofhis cheek, carefully moving down to his chin where you gave a couple of taps,making sure he was still sound asleep. The moment reminded you of the firsttime you two managed to talk like this in bed, wrapped in a tangled mess ofsoft blankets and fighting for who gets the softest pillow for the night.Saeran gave you the pillow and told you that if there was ever anything you’dneed, anything you’d want, you shouldfeel free to say so and he’ll provide it. He always did that: making a funsituation turn sweet without you even noticing it immediately. Saeran was toosmooth for you but he never noticed it himself. He praised you then andreminded you that sometimes, you can be selfish, too, be it for things, forpeople, for him…
Soit made you wonder why, up until now, did Saeran not apply that to himself?
Youwould be asking for too much, however, if you asked him for the reason. Maybeone day, you’ll know more.
Fornow, you were content with everything. You slowly moved closer to him andplanted a soft kiss on his lips. You wish he would also be more selfish forhimself. After everything, he deserved it.
Yougave him another kiss.

Andyou would have given him one more had his lips not twitched and curled up in asmall smile, automatically knowing from whom this contact was coming. Saeranopened his eyes then, blinking a few times to clear his vision. He adored itwhen you were the first person he’d see every time.
“Oops…”Was all that you could manage to say then, and you covered your grinning facewith your hands.
“Youwere kissing me.” Saeran half-whispered. The rain was getting stronger but youmanaged to still hear him speak.
Did he have to point itout like that, though?
Yes.Yes, he did, because he knew it would get you flustered and his predictionswere right.
Butyou challenged the predictions and, despite the red shade spread out on yourcheeks, you moved to place yourself on top of him, carefully laying your bodyagainst his. Saeran’s arms wrapped themselves around you, securing you in placelike a puzzle piece that perfectly fit.
Yougave a small peck on his nose. “I like kissing you.”
Itwas his turn to flame up. A few words from you and his heartbeat already racedwhile his fingers scrunched up the fabric of your blouse to hold himself backfrom any embarrassing reaction he might accidentally put out. He only managedto look to the side to not meet your gaze, lest he suffer some teasing from youfor a few days (not that he actually mindedit since it’ll be you doing the teasing). You didn’t allow him to do that too much as you moved to capture his lips again, laughing in between the contact.He reciprocated quickly, squeezing you a little tighter to bring you downcloser to him.
Youknew you started all of this but it seemed Saeran wouldn’t be letting you off toosoon, as if there was a need to equal the amount of contact shared.
Liftingyourself up just a little to pause the session, you called his name. “Saeran, I—“
“Wait, don’t pull away…” He whispered. “Not yet.”
Ittook you a moment to register his words. His request.
“Let’sstay a bit more like this.” Saeran’s hands found his way to your face, holdingyou gently in place.
Youwatched his eyes move with a form of firmness mixed with uncertainty. You knewthat look: he was thinking too deeply again.
“Unless,”His hold weakened. “Unless you’re tired, that is.”
Washe worrying? You remembered one time when he thought he was too demanding when,in truth, he acted a far cry from it. He barely even demanded anything fromyou.
“Saeran,”Your smile was suddenly shy. “You don’t have to always think twice when asking.”
Heoffered you a sheepish smile. “I’m not.”
“Youwere already doing it.” You said matter-of-factly. “But okay. Let’s stay.”
Itdidn’t take you long to act again after saying that, diving down on himplayfully to plant baby kisses all over his face, a gesture he honestly likedbecause it made him melt. You gave him more than he asked for: an award for himtaking some control now and maybe even understanding that he, too, can ask forthings if he wants them.
Hewanted you and you would give yourself to him.
Neitherof you had to wait for another rainy day to be reminded of that.

asdhgjdfk i wasn’t expecting anyone to actually read my tags and ask about the dessert thing omfgdepends on my mood for the type, but probably cookies! I like them well enough, but they’re definitely not my fave unless i’m seriously craving them
and recent embarrassing story hmmmmmmi haven’t really done anything lately so nothing’s been too embarrassing?? I mostly just trip over things and randomly stop mid-sentence a lot bc i forget what i’m saying lol. I mean, I didn’t realize my hair dye had been staining the collar of my work shirt??? Ask again once school’s been going for a month, there’ll definitely be a story or two then lolololololol

Maybe try to leverage that into change at the company? I mean, I don’t know the specific problems and it shouldn’t be up to you to like, fix other people. But idk. I just hope things change soon, whether it’s another job or people getting it together at your current one

i'm sorry you're dealing with this, love. you definitely don't deserve it and they should be treating you well REGARDLESS of any factors. keep ur chin up, but make sure you do what is best for you and your health. learning that the hard way.
@obsessionfull I’m def going to talk with my “stand in” manager (my current manager though she’s really leading the company and they haven’t filled the position for who should be my manager yet lmao) when I have my weekly meeting with her next week. My love for the place is diminishing, though, so I don’t know how much longer I can stay as much as I do want to. : ( I’m sure the chaos will subside but it won’t be the place I fell in love with anymore.
