It would mean a lot to me if you guys would spread the word that Office Type has completely renovated (they cast trans people in the role of trans characters, and nonbinary people in the role of nb characters, as well as redid the racist stereotypes (it's good representation now!)), and are raising money to finish the art of the game!

y’all: nonbinary people come in all shapes and sizes, and the fact that nb characters are depicted as androgynous is offensive to people who present differently.

also y’all: if i see a transman drawn as anything other than what i picture as a masculine person, then it must be fetishizing, because clearly, all trans binary people have to present the same way.

listen, as a nonbinary person who does not present as androgynous, I can understand why depicting nonbinary characters is a problem. 

but on the flip side, it ensure that people are more likely to respect the identity of those character. or does no one remember when artists got so much hate for drawing frisk from undertale as anything other than androgynous. there were so many hate messages when they were drawn with boobs or more masculine in stature. only purely androgynous depictions of a nonbinary character were hailed as correct. 

and, are we really going to boycott a whole game for inaccurately depicting nonbinary characters? the market is not going to see this failure as ‘oh we need to fix our depictions’ no, their going to see it as ‘we can’t use any nonbinary characters ever again, because we lost the support of conservatives AND liberals because of it.’ and i’d rather not have that. 

to be honest, i as a nonbinary person, would love to see more nonbinary representation even if it’s ‘problematic’. especially considering i can count the number of nonbinary characters in popular media on one hand. even those, already existant characters often have their identity disregarded, as i mentioned before.

currently, we as lgbt consumers are not in a position to boycott representation. i know it’s difficult, but when you’re starving you take what you get.
