The air was disgustingly hot, that sort of hot that was simultaneously muggy and dry. The windows were open and Valentina was sprawled across the couch, trying to fan herself with a magazine from the table. She glanced at Nicole; who placed her chair right next to the window, the light breezes that blessed the room tiny gifts that did not last for more than two seconds, and watched her lean her head back and groan.
The shorter of the two was supposed to be the dramatic one, though Val couldn’t blame her-- the weather made anyone want to just lay down and melt away. Her hand stalled mid movement when she noticed Nicole inhale and just unbutton three of her buttons, opening up the front with a relieved breath.
Catching her bottom lip between her teeth, she allowed her eyes to linger on the smoothness of her bare skin, feeling heat that was not the fault of the summer air rush through her cheeks. "You're literally killing me, Haught."
