my big ol’ 2 night finish ticket/vinyl theatre concert Experience
this is under a cut bc it was two nights and Hoo Boy!! i got a lot to say and this is literally 1600 words im so sorry. i had a rlly good time and i have post concert depression for the first time in like a year. also this doesnt include the nashville show bc that happened like two weeks ago but it’s important to mention that i was at the nashville show as well (i just don’t have a post about it)
okay! so i went to saint louis first on tuesday. i got there at like 2:30 and all the bands had just gotten there and brittany @regionalstbest had just gotten there and we had such a good reunion!!!!!!! we met at twenty one pilots in tulsa and im sooo glad we got to hang out again i can’t wait to see her again in august !! we were all first in line and the venue did a rlly bad job of handling the line coming in because they like? split it down the middle? and so the middle of the line got in at the same time we got in???? that sucked so bad o my god but it was alright for us bc we got center barricade but there were girls that got there right after we did and they were like. far-left. also the barrier was super unsteady idk if it was made for people to like. lean on. and it kept getting pushed closer and closer to the stage like we started maybe like a foot and a half away and ended up like right up on it omg anyway
i didn’t know what i was gonna think of cemetery sun? i listened to their two singles they have out right now and i just. didn’t really know how i felt about them. but jesse (guitarist) and their bassist (whose name i never got!! if anyone knows his name pls let me kno) came up to us while we were in line and we chatted some and he was cool? and then they absolutely k i l l e d it on stage and were one of the most engaging opening acts i’ve ever seen. i learned they all have hardcore backgrounds and that really comes thru w the way they perform and interact w the crowd which is super neat to see translated to a pop group? ya. i was exhausted by the end of their set bc i had so much fun!!!!
finish ticket played second and. i have a lot of emotions about finish ticket. wrong is such a good opening song bc ur immediately super pumped. they’re all so talented and i lov them so much!! me and michael had a Moment and he ended up giving me his setlist after the show which was really cool!! i was so happy to finally be able to hear songs off of tears you apart live tbh and they bring so much energy to the songs. finish ticket. wow. yea.
vinyl theatre was last and i also have a lot of emotions?? i hadn’t been able to see them since quiet is violent and they have Grown Up So Much. but. at one point. keegan did the thing where a frontman will? splash the crowd w water from his water bottle? but he didn’t splash it right i guess and 98% of it hit me directly in the face. people laughed. i don’t think he noticed but i was like crying/laughing o my god. and he kept! trying to stand on the very unstable barricade!!!! and we had to kept trying to hold it steady for him!! it was so dangerous and i was a Concerned Parent
for encore brendan and keegan came out and sang jumper by third eye blind and i legitimately almost cried. also brendan was wearing like. an extremely worn xl women’s grey cardigan. but that was something they didn’t do at either of my other shows and i felt like it was really special???
after the show we hung out for a while? like an hour? the guys all p much immediately come and hang out but we waited til crowds died down a lot and were literally like the last people to leave but. brittany and i went and talked to crim some bc he was kinda standing over by himself @ the merch and? he recently died his hair from the Signature green back 2 black and it turns out he “discovered conditioner last month”. someone please bring him a jar of coconut oil. the poor boy. also cemetery sun bullied me into buying their cd which i blasted the entire trip home and basically they forced me to love them. which i do now. we also talked to finish ticket and vinyl theatre and got pics (which i’ll post later) and things signed and!!!!! they all remembered me from nashville? which was mindblowing? since it was like two weeks ago??? but that was so cool and i cry
NOW ANYWAY kansas city!! we got there at like 2:30 again and at the same time as FT and VT and no one else showed up til 5:30 maybe? it was really concerning?? stl was a really good size venue but kc was like. maybe 200 cap. there were mayybee likee 30 ishhh people in the pit?? im really bad at telling numbers of people but it was ridiculously small. the stage was like 6 inches off the ground and there wasn’t a barrier. so that. sure was something. it was really really cool to see everyone put in exactly the same amt of energy no matter the crowd tho? bc they could have gone in like “oh this is like half the size of our last show it doesn’t really matter” but they didn’t!!! i lov it!!! it was kinda odd being that close though because it’s much easier to make eye contact w people? and i never know what to do? it’s so weird!! and josh (cemetery sun’s vocalist) knelt down at one point and was like singing at me which was . what do you do in that situation. u just gotta watch. do i look away? do i look at someone else instead? do i just stare into his soul while he stares into mine? we just don’t kno!
finish ticket played second again and their grandparents were there!!!! also they dropped never alone from the set which was Sad but w/e? also brendan recognized brittany and literally like. called her out. on stage. in front of everyone. and was like “you were there last night. you drove 8 hours to be here. this song is for you.” and my SOUL LEFT MY BODY. i CRIED FOR HER. that was the BEST MOMENT i was alive in that moment for her i didn’t even CARE that i was there last night too i didn’t feel slighted like there was not a grain of salt in my body i was just dying for her. for her moment. it was Beautiful. that was the killers cover and then they just. didn’t play tranquilize?? and me and the girl next to me (idk her name i’m sorry girl!!) were Incredulous and kept motioning at the setlist. pointing wildly. and alex laughed at us and just shrugged it off and played the intro to bring the rain and i WAS kind of salty abt them just. randomly cutting tranquilize. wtf. after their set i just picked up brendans setlist bc it was Right There on the ground in front of me so i went 3 for 3 and got a setlist for all the shows on my tour, god bless america :’-))
vinyl theatre was last again and ?? i love them so much?? keegan didn’t pour any water on me this time which was cool. they played a new song off their record coming out this summer and i’m so excited for it and excited to see them again!!!! i really like the new song a lot and it’s kind of a dif sound in a way? but it’s still Them? i’m excite. at the end keegan came into the crowd and we all jumped together and it was really great but when they left i had to convince the people around me that if we cheered they would do an encore. i had 2 tell them like 3 or 4 times. i’m sure kansas city has some fun crowds but goodness!!!!!! they ended up coming back but like. i literally had to say like “okay , you five people around me, we’re literally going to start on the count of three because apparently yall need HELP being a GOOD CROWD” . y’all can thank me next time.
we didn’t stay around very long this time which is, frankly, my biggest regret in life !!! what was i thinking !!! i said bye to the cemetery sun dudes and brendan and nick and chris but we just?? left before anyone else came out?? which i know they all came out later after we left? why did we leave so early. what were we thinking. oh my god. i’m still so angry at myself for leaving bc i had things i wanted to say to keegan!!!!! ugh!!! wow !!!!!! i’m so dum !! but there will be other Times.
overall it was incredible. everyone is incredible. doing little mini-tours like this remind me why i want to work in music. huge props to anyone who read this entire thing. if anyone has any questions abt anything let me know!!
Meredith saw finish ticket and vinyl theatre last night and she's rlly emo about it so get ready for this wild ride
so we got center barrier. it was such an amazing experience. the opening band cemetery sun was really good and the lead singer looked like pete wentz omfg. also the guitarist looked like Chris Martin?? @ cemetery sun. pls explain.
finish ticket came on second and I honestly lost my shit like. I love finish ticket so much. so so so much. they had such an amazing energy on stage and I felt so alive and happy and idk they make me so so happy. and then bring the rain. oh my god. that song has helped me so much lately. it means the entire world to me. and seeing it live honestly brought me to tears like?? that song is my everything tbh. at the end of the show Sam got a setlist and she gave it to me and I honestly wanted to cry but then I ended up getting another one so I gave it to her 💁🏻
vinyl theatre was so amazing as well. Keegan jumped into the crowd so many times and honestly like?? I keep forgetting how attractive he is tbh but yea 😏. that was my second time seeing both bands and they just get better and better each time. vinyl theatre was still so so amazing even though they lost a member. at one point Keegan stepped on my arm trying to jump over the barrier and there’s a huge bruise there now but :-) he held my hand so it’s all gucci.
we couldn’t stay after to meet them which kind of bummed me out bc I wanted to thank finish ticket for bring the rain but at the same time?? I wasn’t that disappointed bc I’ve meet both bands before so.
yeah last night was so amazing and it’s probably one of the best shows I’ve ever been to and it was the happiest I’ve felt in a while and idk it was such an experience.
my gf is the most beautiful girl in the world and i don't deserve someone as good as her tbh but she's mine and i'm so so lucky!! she makes me happy and i want time to stop when im with her so we can just be together forever tbh idk i wanna be with mer forever kay!!! im utterly in love w her !!!
