see you later, Mr Game Theory
It's been a long road and it's something bittersweet to see MatPat of Game Theory take his leave as host and pass on the torch to his trusted next.
Josh Edition began as a small thought from an interaction that happened during one of my playthroughs. It was a small moment, really. I had entered the Nether too soon and nearly died to a hoglin, but a brave piglin had come to my rescue and killed it before I could die. I was wearing nothing but a golden helmet. And in that moment, a small story was sparked within me that, honestly, made me reflect back on Game Theory. I had always enjoyed the facets and ideas that came from MatPat's breakdown of the Minecraft world and it's lore. However, I often found myself thinking "I don't think this is quite right," or "maybe this instead is what it could be". And those directly translated into my research and persistence to create Josh Edition. I was inspired to go deeper and decide for myself how this story could be, all the while with dreams of what it would look like through the eyes of the audience that could one day look upon it.
And sometimes I had dreams where there was no one at all and it was just me, my Minecraft world, and the low lighting of my RGB keyboard. I am okay with that outcome. I am okay with the other too. I don't know what Josh Edition will be outside of myself, but Game Theory made me feel that it could be whatever I wanted it to be regardless if it was seen by millions of eyes or just the two of my own. So, thank you, Mr Game Theory, for inspiring me to be my own theorist and creator. I will keep moving forward, just like you.
with love, offl7ne
