Accessibility makes things easier for everyone. Not just a few people, everyone.
This could be as simple as a preference—a girl doesn't like looking at a screen, so she uses a screen reader to read text off of a long educational paper.
But it could be used for other things. Heavy suitcases can be much easier taken up into a building if there's a slope. Alternative ways for opening doors (like buttons) can help if your hands are full or you have an injury and it may hurt to push a heavy door. Screen readers can help you understand something if you have eyestrain. Captioning can help someone understand a video if they're in a noisy place.
