🔥—— Shrouded In Mystery

🔥—— Being awake for the first time after transformation back from a dragon to an Au Ra wasn’t enjoyable — nothing but pleasant, but as the years had gone by Brii had spoken to many kind souls on her ways through Eorzea she had slowly started to accept it as her fate… & not necessarily as only a bad thing.

No, there was no hiding nor running away from what she would have to bear with her for the rest of her life, she knew it & had known it for many years already… The only thing she could likely do was to stop even t r y i n g to run as it was & had been in vain, yet she still was sometimes stuck with the mindset she had adapted many years ago after her first sin — this time she would give herself a chance to be more open-minded.
Feet hadn’t stayed still in the south of the Coerthas Central Highlands but led even further to the south — through North Shroud to South Shroud — somewhere she had never been before & oh how strange it was. The weather was pleasant, the wind was warm & silent. Musk of a forest fresh of rain o v e r w h e l m e d Brii’s disorganized senses. She breathed out heavily indicating pleasure & kept walking further completely lost in her thoughts.
But... The sun was going down & without Brii even noticing the light had significantly dimmed & the shadows of the lush trees & vines around her grew taller by the minute. Blinking her eyes rapidly she came back from the bliss to wake up in the middle of nowhere to the looming veil of darkness & panic set in as she witnessed the glowing eyes of the wildlife far away in the distance. She had no clue where she was nor what direction she should go for solace, thus:
“... I suppose I need to stay here.”
Most unfortunate --- mere couple of hours after transforming she was now stuck in a region she didn’t know anything about stealthily trying to find dry enough wood to make a small campfire, which she did. With destruction magic & a flick of fingers she generated a tiny flame catching fire immediately.
More hours passed as Brii merely laid on the ground eyes shifting back & forth looking into every direction, heart pounding like it was going to jump out through her throat, paranoid of her surroundings. Her senses were still weak & unreliable. Her eyesight betrayed her --- the poor dragon wasn’t able to see any further than her own arm’s length.
A loud crack not too far away from her. Brii c a t a p u l t e d up towards the sound & feet violently kicked the campfire extinguishing it to a mere pile of burned cracked wood, smoldering coal & ebony smoke. Bright yellow eyes struggled to draw a picture of what was ahead of her. Stiff as the wood she had gathered earlier she remained stationary, waiting, terrified.
