It started out like any other regular day; get up, brush teeth, shower, get dressed, make breakfast, and then finally leave for work. She rode the transit early in the morning, around 7am, and got to the café at 7:30am, right on time. She opened her small shop early everyday, except on Sundays. Those were the only days she'd allow herself a break. With that being said, this was a Monday.
The woman, standing at a proud 6'2", tied on her apron and pulled her full afro back. Vibrant hair clips and a pretty purple headband holding the strong hair in place and out of the way as she moved around her shop. Putting all the chairs down and tucked neatly beneath their rightful tables, sweeping, and cleaning the windows before she officially opened up shop at 8am. Flipping the 'Sorry, we're closed' sign to 'We're open!', she went to stand behind the counter, getting all of her caffeine machines and the pastry baking oven ready.
Lastly, she turned on the radio, filling the empty shop with soft RnB music, joined with her humming to the tune of the smooth voices spilling forth. All too suddenly the door opened, a gentle jiggling from the bell hung carefully from the top of it announced a customer. Her full plump lips pulled back in a friendly and calm smile. "Welcome to Crystal Café. My name's Garnet, how can I help you?"
