“I’ve had just about enough of you, Mr. Murphy,” Kane had snapped at him, voice dangerously quiet. He’d shoved that stupid, judge-y finger in John’s face, wagging it angrily. “Work detail, the rest of this week. Anything needs cleaning, you’re the one who’s taking care of - Don’t you even dare protest, or you’ll have it for the rest of the month.”
Murphy backed into the door that lead to medical to push it open, both hands too full to do it. Abby had asked him (rather politely, he’d noted) to clean up before another rush started. They’d just cleared the last patient an hour ago, but with a patrol coming back at sundown, she’d likely have her hands full all night. She needed a sterile work space to operate properly.
The door fell shut as he set the water bucket down, sighing as he dunked the mop into it. He’d shaken the excess off and began running it over the floor when he became aware of the familiar feeling of eyes on him. He turned, unsure of how he’d missed these people upon coming in.
“Can I help you?” He asked irritatedly.
