               ❛  Like any friendship  is.  ❜

    Sort of, kind of, it’s hard to even explain it. Jack isn’t human, so it’s unlike     any other semblance of a friendship he’s managed to hold over the years     ( as few and far between as those were ). Jack’s from HELL, and that alone     is enough for Roman to laugh at. It’s an odd concept, being friends with     someone from a place that he’s told to go to often. It’s… an odd concept even     acknowledging now that Hell exists. It’s even more to actually come to terms     with the fact that he’s friends with a demon.

    Yet Jack is… what Roman never had been. Maybe once, long, long ago,     but no more. Any concept of being friendly, of helping and being so selfless     is gone. Jack is kind, trusting, and Roman should laugh at him for that, but     he doesn’t.

    Because with Jack he talks. He breaks down carefully constructed walls without     realizing it. He uses his hands to speak, he laughs ( fully, in a stream that won’t     stop until he’s nearly doubled over and waving to get a second to catch his     breath  ), and for once, he’s not ridiculed.

    He’s not a criminal. He’s not a disgusting, selfish monster with no respect for     humanity. He’s human. He’s able to be what he doesn’t normally have a chance     to be. And he loves it.

    Jack is… extremely important to him.
