it was simple fact that following revan had lead contra to his death - but regret wasn’t in his nature, and there was nothing he would change. they had fought valiantly for a noble goal - the complete eradication of the so-called immortal emperor - and while contra did not know if the revanites had ultimately succeeded, he was confident that they had been right to try, regardless of what their opposers would say.
the thing was, the one before him now was not the revan that contra had known. he was younger, to start, his presence in the force showing this. while contra’s loyalty to the revanites held... he would reserve judgement on this revan.
