Hugo had to admit he was curious when Jamie asked him to get a blazer instead of a cash payment, but he was outright surprised when it was a blazer for Kat. He didn’t ask for details, as long as he could work it to his advantage in the delivery and spin that it was his thoughtfulness, that’s all he really cared about. Even if it couldn’t have been further from the truth. He wondered if a second date would’ve been warranted from it, but he supposed he’d quickly find out. Allowing the garment bag to rest along his back and shoulders as he hung onto the hanger with his index finger and thumb. He quickly made his way to the blue house entrance. Admittedly, he should’ve gotten it done a bit sooner, but he hadn’t exactly had many sobering moments on the trip so far.
Knocking a few times on the cabin door, he stepped inside, eying around. Figuring it wasn’t exactly against any sort of rules to come in. Then again, he never worried about rules that were established, anyway. “Kat?” Hugo voiced out loudly wondering if anyone was around the cabin. So he made his way toward the kitchen, figuring the girls probably had better food while he was at it.

Two soft raps to the door and Damian waits, letting his hand fall back to his side. Tempted as he is to announce his presence off the bat, he has this striking feeling that won’t work in his favor. He doesn’t know what’s happened since Jay left the Prescott household -- what he’s told Kat, if he’s told her already, or if he’s spread word to more than one person. He doubts it’s something Jay will hold back on too considering his anger at the party. All Damian knows is what he’s done, which is that upon arrival at campus, he got his nose bandaged by Sister Florence and took to his bed for sleep. He normally isn’t for that type of thing but he knew he needed to empty his head of all of the heaviness so that he could figure out something to say to her. Though face to face with her door now, he still doesn’t have a clue. This doesn’t feel like any of the past apologies he’s made in his life. Never have his indiscretions spilled out into the open like this.
Feeling as if he’s kept on the other side of the door too long, Damian’s worry gets the better of him and he does exactly what he knows isn’t the wisest thing and reveals who he is. “Kat? It’s me. Can you-- Let’s talk?” A beat and then, “Please...”

A man of his caliber on the slopes, Damian rarely finds himself impressed by skiers at any lodge. And he’s visited many what with Papa Fitzgerald’s fondness for skiing. The last time a hint of admiration was coaxed out of him was 2017, and he later found out that the person was Canadian so obviously that kind of talent was warranted. Never in his life did he think anyone from the Stowe Mountain Resort would be piquing his interest but as he watches a red figure glide gracefully down the challenging slope he’d descended not 20 minutes ago, Damian finds himself excited by the prospect of someone finally being able to stand against his abilities. He turns his body fully, facing the slope now with a curious expression. This can’t be one of those public school students, can it? He’d be shocked if it is. Nevertheless, with the finesse of that finish, Damian believes he must find his way over there and introduce himself, to share his appreciation of this mystery skier’s stellar form.
Removing his snow goggles away from his face, he pulls it off his head and tucks it under his arm as he makes his way over to the skilled individual. “Quite the talent you have there. I’ve been seeing so many people eat snow, I was wondering if they were any real skiers here.” He chuckles. His signature half-smile full of charm and confidence sits waiting on his lips, ready to greet the figure once it turns around.

Damian: What's your favorite thing to drink at the Kettle?
— @ofkatherinebishop;
Damian wonders if ghosts still feel things. Because if so, Jamie should feel a lot of satisfaction knowing Damian hasn’t slept properly since their encounter. The truth of it all sits heavily on his chest. It keeps him awake at night, stewing while JJ putters about the room with his gleaming chest. It distracts him in classes, making him leave sessions without a single new thing learned. His brain is far too consumed with thoughts that he’s a liar, liar, liar. A fraud. A no good manipulator. For the first time in his life, Damian is doing a deep evaluation of who he is as a person and not just who he claims to be.
It helps him come to a decision on a lot of things. For one, he’s decided: fooling around with girls is no more. It’s his most obvious flaw and the biggest contributor to his sin and guilt. He’s cutting off all deviant behavior. Completely cold turkey. No longer will Damian Fitzgerald slink around in the shadows and melt under the hands of some girl. But of course, he still plans to honor his scheduled meet-up with Kat. It’s wholly innocent – just trying out a turtle latte and doing some homework – so he doesn’t think it there’s anything wrong with showing up like they’d agreed. There’s no reason to hurt Kat’s feelings to feel better about himself. He’s actually been thinking a lot about it and he thinks maybe if things go well with Kat today, he won’t have to give up every girl he’s been seeing. That maybe he can pursue Kat in a proper way? That perhaps they don’t just have to be these people who meet in the garden and hurriedly get what they can from each other before parting ways. Maybe they can be on the path to something real if all goes well… It’s something he seriously considers. Because he knows he likes Kat well enough and he doesn’t want to be accused of being a coward any longer. He’ll do something for himself for once if the desire is big enough. Something he wants to do and not something his parents have asked of him. Then Jamie can eat ghost shit.
In preparation for their…date, he supposes, Damian ensures he arrives at The Kettle first. He orders two turtle lattes – one hot and one cold – and secures an empty table for himself and Kat. He sends her a text to let her know he’s there waiting for her, his homework in tow and ready to help with hers as well. For the first time in Damian’s life, he actually thinks he’s nervous now… He’s never spent time with a girl with the possibility swimming in his head that perhaps they could become his girlfriend. It makes one of his knees bounce, fingers drumming against the table quietly while he sits. When he first catches sight of the icy blonde shade of Kat’s hair, Damian actually shoots up, relief flooding him because finally, something else to focus his thoughts on other than Jamie calling him a fucking pussy.
“Hey.” Damian smiles at her, standing as Kat approaches the table he reserved for them. As she nears him, he wonders what’s etiquette for something like this. Does he hug her? Kiss her on the cheek? He decides a compliment will do since you never know who’s looking nowadays.“You look beautiful,” he offers before lowering himself to sit again. “I wasn’t sure if you preferred hot or cold with the turtle lattes, so I got both.” He gestures to them waiting on the table for Kat’s consumption. “Whichever one of the two you don’t take, I’ll try that. See if it’s up my alley in the realm of hot beverages.” There. That’s good. Right? Ugh, don’t be weird. He hopes Kat doesn’t sense his nervous energy.
