Been brainstorming about how a theoretical Persona Q game with the characters from P1 and the P2 duology could work.
Like, logistically speaking, that's too many characters. At least 40, and then a few more counting the spin-offs like Strikers and Arena. So the current solution I thought of is dividing the characters in trios and duos that join up later. This does mean that a few characters would have little interaction with eachother, but I think that's fine. The market for wanting to see Yuka Persona 1 interacting with Ken Persona 3 cannot be that big.
There's also the question of what characters and from where in the timeline they're taken, specially due to how certain Persona 1 characters appear in Persona 2, as well as if the Persona 2 characters themselves will be from Eternal Punishment or from Innocent Sin, but also if it's pulling from Arena or Strikers, would the Phantom Thieves be as they are on Sae's palace, or during the Third Semester, maybe it's even not homogeneous, and while Sumire and Akechi are from Maruki's Palace, the rest are from Strikers. The same with Labrys, for example, which could be from Arena while the rest of SEES is from the main game, and Aigis specifically is from The Answer.
It'd need a main antagonist to cause the situation to begin with, and there are a billion answers to how that could work. One I quite like is that of an alternate universe "Fallen Hero", a Wild Card who failed to defeat their main villain, or who did defeat them but took their place. Those who know me and know Live A Live can definitely tell where I took my inspiration from.
Philemon still wouldn't appear btw, he'd show up like once normally telling whichever protagonist you choose to wake up and then once as a butterfly just kind of flying around or something.
I didn't think of what all the previously mentioned trios/duos would be, but I did think of a few. I know Ren and Maki would be a duo, and so would Naoya/Boy with Earring and Sumire, and that they'd be one of the first to meet up. Also the trio of canonical artists, so Yusuke, Jun, and Masao, or of Scary Ladies, so Nijima, Chie, and Yukino. Or Rich Ass Bastards, so Mitsuru, Kei Nanjo, and Haru.
