Artemisia doesn’t fear death.
From a young age she knew she wouldn’t live to see long. At the start, it was simply because her mother never seemed to have enough to provide, then because peasants, no matter how good the land was to them, didn’t often live to see their hair turn grey.
Later, upon arriving to Camelot she learned that it was her job, and the life she chose for herself. Perhaps, she would’ve been less accustomed to the idea of death as a wife, but fighting people right and left and receiving wounds on the verge of mortal set her mind in a different perspective.
She knows that each time she goes out there , her life is on the line. Each time she bleeds too much, she knows it could be her last moment.
Artemisia isn’t afraid of death, although she doesn’t welcome it, the idea isn’t frightening or strange to her in the least.
