                 had she?   (  truly?  )   YES. is she not the poster child for such an obtrusive statement? life hard, full of loss && desperation with gunpowder && ash, ROT clinging to very pores. every inch of being covered, weighing her down 'til she wrenched herself away from oppressive downfall she, herself, set herself up for the moment she agreed on human experimentation in the name of revenge. protection.   (  perhaps she had had the instinct then. a hero complex of sorts. she would face chance of death in name of country, avengers naught but bonus in the scheme of things now that she looks back. how odd.  )

                 she reminds her of someone. who, she can't remember, but, all the same, there is something familiar in the curve of fair jaw, shade of eyes.   (  perhaps wanda saw her die once. or, rather, someone like her. protests rarely ended peacefully, after all, in a country torn apart by shell casings && bloodshed. rebellion. revolution. it all means the same.  )   eyes sweep, curiosity held within their hue 'fore dropping, teeth finding corner of carmine painted tiers in absent contemplation.

                &&, still, is she not used to america   (  it is large && loud && it is odd to think of it as home after so long spent cursing some of its citizens  )   ;; sights && sounds an assault almost to senses && it takes a moment for realization to arrive, notice that one of the myriad of voices caught by ears went directed towards her.          ❛    v'hat did you say?     ❜

                       sweat dripped off his body in buckets, heavy breaths racked through his core as his vision went from the horrifying reality in front of him && the  equally horrifying truth in his mind         his memories. his mouth hung open as oxygen slowly rejuvenated his lungs && for a moment he thought it was over but the fatal pain was back with such a ferocity it knocked the soldier on his  ass.

                      hands knotted in his hair, wiry strands getting lodged between the grooves of metal on his left hand causing the pain to increase and distract him even more so from the constant flashes of memories that burdened his mind.

                                  ❝ make it STOP !!

there was always a ledge. no matter where alice was, or what she  was doing, there was always a ledge for her to fall off of. always.  this ledge, in particular, was off of the side of a very tall building, a very tall building, amongst other very tall buildings, in a city  her looking glass had plopped her in for no reason in particular.  alice ran out of confusion, her heart pounding a familiar beat in  her chest, propelling her forward. then her foot hit the ledge, and her body fell forward, her stomach taking flight. the young  adventurer’s eyes widened, and a gasp of shock past her lips.
