Jamie paced the office space down in the main living room just off to the side of the kitchen; trying to figure out a way to tell them this life— this work, was pointless. He’d been shoved back into the bunkhouse for a month now and nothing was different, nothing was better- nothing had changed. So much for that valiant lecture about cowardice up on that hill. Mud caked to the knees of his jeans and he threaded the rim of the baseball cap between his fingers in quiet thought as he heard their footsteps approaching.
