It had been a long day for Anna. Running out of money quicker than she expected, she was mentally cursing herself for treating herself to a extra large dinner at the diner in the last town. The bus fare wasn't exactly cheap any more and it was draining her quicker than she wanted. This meant she'd have to get a new alias, but it would have to be done in the motel, but could she find a cheap one? No. It was back and forth between motel's, begging to let her stay one night in the cheapest room they had, but most of the motel's were expensive posh ones, and she couldn't afford what they were asking.
Walking down an alley, something didn't seem right. She could have sworn she had heard footsteps behind her, but then again it was a bustling town, but it didn't seem right. Her head turned very slightly, hair catching in her eye -- but there was nobody there.
She could have sworn she'd seen something, or someone. Guess not. Continuing her walk, her body stopped again, her eyes narrowing slightly, she wasn't stupid. There was someone following her. Instead of acting upon instinct and turning around, she continued walking to the door of the motel, and when she reached the door, she could see a figure in the glass of the door. Spinning around, she pulled out her army knife and held it up.
❝-- Stop right there! I've got a knife!❞
