good ending..!After the wars subsided, Urie comes out on top as one of the prominent figures in the CCG to manage a successful record. It’s something similar to his late father and many assume that the young man will surpass him. However, on the inside, despite the praise he has been showered with, Urie struggles with the realization that he’s something of an artificial ghoul. He goes to confront Shiba but finds Yoshiko instead. After she too gifts him with congratulations, Urie hastily discloses that he knows what the Washū are but instead of becoming aggravated with them, he’s frustrated and upset that he’s now one too and doesn’t know what to do from there. Yoshiko first is scared however shows sympathy but is reluctant to offer him any advice, afraid of what Matsuri may do or say. She confides that their secret is something that must be protected - they cannot gamble. Urie dismisses her immediately, foundering to his knees with tears in his eyes from overwhelming emotions. He tells her that he strives to work hard - which she condones - yet, he feels his own body cannot be trusted to protect those who are close him. Yoshiko comforts him with an embrace and she promises to keep his own secret from spreading. She tells him the difficulty of walking on the thin line between what you are and what you must be and wills to soften his crying by telling him soothingly and confidently that no matter, his father would be proud. Since then, Urie has been frequently visiting her on learning how to cope in a world that isn’t prepared for ghouls to live like humans while balancing the responsibilities of being in S3. She helps him practice eating food if he’s ever out and how to properly excuse yourself if it’s too much. In return, Urie has offered to resume his tutoring sessions so that Yoshiko can tune her artistic skills. Even during mornings, Yoshiko has developed the habit to send him ‘good luck’ texts for the day ahead. They both acknowledge the time it will take for reparations on the CCG’s image to complete. Many wish that the organization should transition its policies to be ghoul - friendly. “And maybe,” she tells him, “It’s best that way..” - to stay hidden until they take their leave. Urie asks her where she will go when that time comes but she only responds with a little smile as she adjusted his tie.
bad ending..!Among the turmoil the CCG is undergoing, Yoshiko finds Marude outside and faces him with animosity for what he has done to her father, his friend, his only friend - she reminded him, and her family in general. Not long after this interaction does Urie find Yoshiko on the ground, holding her head in disappointment while amidst the scene of terrible carnage and rage implying that she has killed and eaten the investigator. Urie yells for her to address the situation but Yoshiko could only look up at him with her kakugan activated in knowing morose. He’s surprised but subdues her easily since she does not fight back. While in transport to Cochlea, Yoshiko does not say a word. Urie can’t look at her and grits his teeth. She doesn’t know where she’ll be residing in and assumes that she’d be held in a lesser secured facility due to her lack of experience in combat. When they arrive, the Washū is sentenced to the bottom of Cochlea, reserved for SSS-ranked ghouls that distresses her tremendously. Urie calmly explains that because she is a ghoul with enormous influence and power, they will not be taking chances. She begins to tearfully plea with him to reconsider but he remains placid as guards carry her away screaming. He goes to visit after a few hours and he thinks the cell is depressingly ugly and desolate. Yoshiko appears already disheveled with bloodshot eyes, pleading again for him not to leave her as the place is horrible but Urie only came to say that the Washū name will die here, hinting that Matsuri is also held as a prisoner. He is tempted to scare her further by saying she will be a wonderful quinque but decides against it. He leaves her cell and Yoshiko rushes towards the doors just after they shut still wailing for forgiveness, eventually crying out for her father that goes obviously ignored.
romantic ending..!Yoshiko surprises Urie with plane tickets to Germany and other various places. She informs him that she waited until the holiday season much to Urie’s disapproval. This time of the year is always hectic for travelers although he stops his protest when she gives a slight glare. They leave soon after and proceed to take plenty of photos of themselves and the sights they see during their adventures. Eventually, both are at a small café for coffee in a town close to where she stayed during her college years. Urie is brushing up on his German with his pocket dictionary. Yoshiko playfully teases him on how serious he looks while he studies. He doesn’t turn away but smiles back that he wants to work hard to impress her. She’s about to comment until a familiar sight catches her off - guard. It’s Matsuri with another man she recognizes as being a close partner of his and fellow investigator in the past. They don’t appear to notice them and go about their casual conversation. She stares a little too long and Urie brings her attention back to him. He asks what she was looking at, she replied with “Love” that confuses him. She fans her hand to bat away anything else that may be brought up from her answer and eagerly questions if he would like to practice with her just the snow begins to fall.
