Dubai didn’t happen — but two weeks later the job did. He’d pleaded with Fiona to come with him and explained that after this, he’d be set for life but none of it seemed to matter to her. When the client pulled out, along with the girl who still managed to have his heart in a jar, he kept moving like he always did. But now — now he had no where else to move to. With the highs of what he did, came extreme lows. Sometimes that meant being handcuffed in a boiler room on some boat, or forced into some temporary slave labor until a break came and it was those parts; and the absence of HER that had him HERE once again. One more fucking time. One day she’d leave with him — but until then, he was prepared to WAIT for her.
Jimmy had been in Chicago for three days and he’d discovered a few things. Fiona was no longer married to Gus (having found ‘Fuck You, Fiona’ online, he’d made a pit stop and paid her ex a visit — it hadn’t ended well for Gus to say the least), Fiona was now RUNNING Patsy’s, and Lip still HATED him. Jimmy couldn’t really blame him though, he’d made his share of mistakes and the entire family had their reasons, but he was here to make things right — with Fiona — with EVERYONE. Jimmy watched from across the street until he’d finally spotted her, popping out the back for a cigaette and that’s when he made his move. Darting through traffic making sure to get her attention before anyone else could.
“Hey, uh, you wouldn’t happen to know where I could get a pie, do you?” Jimmy spoke, curiosity knitting his brows together as if he truly didn’t know the girl in front of him. His words came out without a breath, not giving Fiona a moment to interject. “Someone told me Patsy’s was my best bet, but I dunno... I tried that once before but I ended up getting my ass kicked by one of the waitresses. Real mean right hook on her too — she deviated my septum if you can believe it.”
“This is gonna sound really weird but — I can’t get her out of my head.” Jimmy had left her alone, for almost two years now but he couldn’t do it again. He’d made a lot of mistakes and if he were going to do anything, it was going to be making them right. He couldn’t let her go — not then, not now, not EVER.
