. What was the hardest lesson they had to learn as they got older?
How to survive.
G’raha’s family was poor, and his father was the Nuhn of the G tribe. His mother was one of the various ladies he had slept with, but when G’raha opened his eyes a few weeks after birth, showing his Royal Eye, his father all but disowned that part of the tribe.
It was hard, growing up. For a long while their mother provided, but when he was 10, she was murdered. He had to learn how to take care of himself, how to hunt and how to earn money in a short time. He nearly starved to death, he nearly died hunting monsters for food. At 15, he was a self-sufficient hunter..
Survival was all he knew. Up until he was taken in by a family in Gridania after the Elementals blessed his coming, that is. It was hard to adapt, and it still is.
But he knows skills that will be essential in the future.
“I will keep making this face at you until you falter and give in.”
@oftwlight // Comforting Cuddles
How often was it that Zodiark felt like this? This strange feeling in His chest that Hythlodaeus once explained to Him. It was warm, odd, and fuzzy? Urg, it was hard to think about but He didn’t stop his movements towards the Bringer of Light. Instead, He stopped right at the edge of the bed, settled down on one side and simply curled up into a ball next to the Mothercrystal’s chosen.
This shouldn’t be happening, the only creature He would allow near Him like this were His Paragons, His source of comfort and aether when He needed it the most, but this was different. It was something the silver could not explain.
@oftwlight liked for a post ShB starter!
Camp Bronze Lake.
It was the only thing on his mind after visiting Tataru to report on things in the First. He ached in places he didn’t know he could ache, felt raw, like the light had burned away the surface of him and left the sharp edges beneath.
So even without being nagged into it, he was heading to Camp Bronze Lake to try to make himself feel a little less wrong. The warmth of the hot springs hit him even before he stepped beneath the arch that led up to the camp proper.
Adjusting the pack over his shoulder and making sure it didn’t catch on the lance he went nowhere without, he made his way up the stairs to get settled in.

“I don’t want to. ” Arluna huffed. “I’m not a child. Don’t tell me to go bed! I’m a fierce warrior and thus have no bed time.”
Daues just kinda wraps him up in a blanket burrito and gently cradles the tiny cat to his chest. “Hush. Sleep, dear boy.”
❝ i’m so tired . ❞
“I’d imagine one such as you should be…nay, but there is no rest for a Hero hmm?” The ancient one gave a small shake of his head.
“Nay, even a hero needs rest. Go. Rest your weary head. Find peace in the sweet embrace of a peaceful slumber child.”
oftwlight replied to your post: “You. Yes you. I have some words I need to say to...
“You mean yes.”
“No, I mean no.” He pouts.
