Can confirm that the Eevee trick DOESN'T work, at least not for me. I had one that should have been a Jolteon, and it became Flareon.
Yeah, that Eevee I had that knew Dig became a Jolteon, not a Flareon.

The thing needed to solve the code itself. I remember Joseph telling a story about their friend who minored in cryptology that it was impossible because Troy didn't include the thing to solve it. (I may be using the wrong word, since I heard it on a panel/posdcast a bit ago)
Ohhh, yeah I think that was the Surveillance code they were talking about. Maybe they were saying it was just too short or something, like he didn’t really include enough of the code for it to be solved without hints (thus why Jay had to hold our hands and guide us through solving it).

I’m not sure. I don’t thiiiiink so but again, I wasn’t in the fandom for until relatively recently (not even three years ago) so I don’t know for sure. I’m mildly confused by what you mean by “add the cipher” anyway though.
That code was literally impossible. Troy forgot to include the cipher, so Jay took to Twitter to guide us along lmao. I wonder if that's what happened with the Null code? (except no jay to help us this time)
I mean, not quite. Unfiction did eventually figure it out (granted I’m fairly sure that was after the third sequence was posted to Twitter). But Troy didn’t forget to include anything, it was just that difficult to figure out.
