History lesson :) The Nobiras were a kitsune clan known throughout Japan for their main traits, white fur and icy blue eyes. They were also predominantly water based kitsunes. The clan ran under a democratic/patriarchy with heads elected by the people if the heir to the throne is deemed unworthy. The Nangokus were a clan nearby, known for their traits as well, pure black fur and piercing green eyes. Their main element was fire. They lived under a matriarchy, with the first born females becoming the head of the clan. Though they were extremley different, they lived in peace with each other for centuries until an incident caused the clans to go to war and die off. The daughter of a Nangoku head was traveling to Nobira territory, she and the first born son of their head were in love. Some hated their love, including the Nobira clan head, Hiro. Two guards that protected the gates to the clan were ordered to scare her away. Instead of scaring her away, the guards killed her by drowning her in the river the clans both used. The Nangokus were furious, centuries of trust amounted to murder? They waged war on the Nobiras for breaking their treaties and three assassins killec the guards responsible. Hiro, not believing his guards killed anyone, waged war as well when the guards were found hanged in the courtyard of the village. Both clans stated death to those of the other clan that trespassed and the Nangokus went even further, stating any white haired child was to be killed if born after the war. Those born before it were chased off to the Nobiras. The war lasted for a very long time, and around the time Ogistune was born, the population of both clans were 1/3 of what they were prior. Eventually, the clans succumbed to a deadly disease that killed many foxes and kistunes alike and some went off to war, dying there. Ogistune is the last of that part of history, being the last known Nangoku clan member and the head of the long dead clan.
