⌂ Edeltraut Schoen ⌂ 19 ⌂ Year 2 ⌂ Haus Gold ⌂
⌂ Story
Four bedrooms, five bathrooms, four guestrooms, three salons, one library, one kitchen, a barn, and eighty-two acres of land. Forty employees, two horses and various chicken, a duty for aristocrats, a fortune greater than anyone could ever count, a life which will never let you fall to the ugly rim of society but will always keep you in the very centre, in the glorious shine of attention and love. And of course, the surname Schoen. Edeltraut was the first heir to all this, a glamorous life millions of people would envy her for, and all she had to do in return was to fit in. To stop letting her hair grow, to stop wearing dresses, to stop fooling around in the barn with the kitchen boy, to stop loving the arts a little too much and calculus a little too little, to stop. To just stop being herself.
Her first year at Schluchtenburg was thus the most marvellous time of her life. 'Schoen, Edeltraut Schoen’, she’d introduce herself, shy, her voice shaking, cautious anyone might react like her father always did, might tell her that ‘Edeltraut’ couldn’t possibly be her real name. No one ever did. It was a year of freedom, a year of letting herself be the person she really was, a year of smiles unfolding. Until Adelger Graf - a boy who knew Edeltraut for many years now - could not hold his tongue any longer. He told Edeltraut’s parents about how she was comporting herself and two days later she was sent back home. Her hair was cut off to a nasty short boy’s haircut and the dresses were ripped from her body, burnt by angry whips of a wand, replaced by tight and constricting pants. A year of behaving followed. Oh, they tried their best, Edeltraut’s parents, they really did, tried their best to murder every inch of soul the young woman was still carrying within her chest. And when the year was over, they thought they had done well, that Edeltraut was ready for Schluchtenburg again. What they didn’t know? She was. She was ready. Tears were swallowed, shyness had died in the bonfire flames of hate, nothing could now make her bow her head in fear anymore. She was rising like a Phoenix, and nothing could stop her to be herself. Not her parents, not Adelger, and surely not the school. Not even the heaviness of her surname.
