This one was much too promising to ignore.

Alerting Murdock's debtors to his whereabouts resulted in a fantastic, bloody chain of events. Which led to Merrick becoming more powerful more quickly than Violet could have ever imagined. The perfect vessel. And her pathetic excuse of a partner wouldn't be much trouble at all, not against it.

Violet waits for an opening, then it has her. Purple and black smoke curling and winding into Merrick's mouth and nose as it holds her in place. She fights against it stronger than expected but it's ultimately no use. Finally, finally! She's complete and whole again, its former dying shell crumbling to the floor.

Then, it appears outside of the house Merrick shared with him. One more loose end to tie up.

It was supposed to be over. At last, it was supposed to be ok. Murdock was torturing his father, finally getting his revenge so he could settle down with his family. Something had changed since his accident, a new power within Merrick he originally believed to be born from her protective spirit over him. Now, it was going to be a lifetime of domestic bliss. Just him, her, and Vivaldi.

It’s been a few days since he last saw Merrick, another disappearance in the middle of the night. Beside himself, he’s been driving around the edges of the woods to try and find her. They didn’t have to hurt anyone anymore, so her being gone couldn’t be a longer kill. A note would’ve been left, anything to say she was ok. Living in the bedroom, Murdock cuddles Vivaldi to his chest. Voice hoarse and cracking as he falsely reassures himself under the guise of helping the cat. “She’s just..she’s just lost. Worlds changed since she was last here, so she’s probably gotten lost. Maybe she went across the world to get you a gift, some specialist cat toy.”
