i do not like it. i think starscream and windblade have an unquestionable bond, and i love the relationship that was built between them, but making it romantic feels like. idk. it gives reylo vibes. their dynamic just never read as romantic to me, beyond some fanservicey panels and covers, and while i see why people would ship it, to me its like, the second it becomes romantic their story just becomes 'good woman changes bad man through the power of love' and i hate it lmao. i do not think windblade needs to shoulder his redemption, and the story doesnt think so either. she believes in starscream not because of something uniquely special about him, but because she Has to believe in the good in people, and shes a great, intuitive judge of character- she can cut right through his facade, no matter how bad of a liar she is. theyre clearly mirrors to each other, and shape each other throughout their run, but i just find their dynamic so much more interesting when its not romantic. i could see them becoming amica someday though, after like 1000 years or smth lol. maybe. i like the idea of them having this kind of bond (post everything obviously) where they dont see each other for a long time, they exchange short, clipped words, they argue, then one day starscream just like drops into her office and starts complaining about something and shes like 'mhm mhm' then they sit in parallel play. idk. in my mind i know exactly what their relationship is but im not sure how to put it. its 10000000% not romantic to me though
also im a chromeblade warrior for life and starscream is gay as hell
2. jazzprowl
jazzprowl...what to say about jazzprowl...so the thing about jazzprowl for me is like. theres an incredible wealth of fanart and fanfic for it. a lot of it is amazing. i love to see it and i love to read it. but at some point i was like 'man this is like the second most popular tf ship, whered it come from??' and my findings were...not substantial enough for me to get attached to it myself lol. its sort of like (forgive me, overwatch mention) the mchanzo of transformers to me? like, they dont Not have a dynamic like mchanzo did, but they just dont really. there isnt much other than their similar positions in the autobot chain of command and their complimentary personalities/designs. i Will say that i quite like jazzprowl in tfa, i think thats one of the only continuities i can remember them really interacting, but for pretty much everything else, its like wavewave- i just have other ships and dynamics with these characters that i like more, and they dont have enough canon basis for me to really sink my teeth into lol
