Sex On Toast - Oh Loretta!
maybe it's the weather
I've been dreaming often- not even dreams, but nightmares, and they last through the night and they don't leave when I awaken, but lie in wait and return when my eyes shut again. Last night I was somewhere in the mountains, going to a trail, going to a house that I know I have been to before. It was a location that has been in my dream before but not one that I remember ever going to in real life.
Loretta was with me, she made me walk ahead in the darkness and it was scary. The woods were threatening and reminded me of the spaces I create in my mind where I am surrounded by trees and unable to escape. We got to a building, a halfway point, another place I had entered. The double doors had a fancy handle and I turned it gently and there were bugs inside. Millions and millions of bugs, some dead, some alive, some in cases and some crawling everywhere. Looking back I am disgusted, I have goosebumps, but I remember stepping over them in my dream and continuing on my way. There were women there- as if they worked the place. And a fox. A beautiful little creature. I still picture the red of its coat. Then, a huge beetle, one of the ones with the pincers, came over to the fox, and used the pincers to cut its stomach open, and then it climbed inside. Everyone watched with fascination, but I was horrified. Apparently it was supposed to happen, and the wound healed up once the beetle was inside but I woke up for the first time then.
Once I fell back asleep, I was back on the road again, and I could see a chainlink fence next to me with a foothpath on the other side- it was illuminated by the moon. Eventually we tore away from it and ended up at the house Loretta wanted us to be. I had to go to bed in this big room that was separated from the rest of the house, and all I kept seeing in the dream were faces in the window that would then dart. Then I woke up again and was so paranoid. I could've sworn there was someone else in the room with my roommate and myself. By the time I calmed myself down, the roomie had gotten up and I dozed for a bit.
I have no idea what any of it means and frankly I'm not sure if I want to know, but it'd be really nice to get a solid 8 hours of sleep dream-free anytime in the next NOW or so. I can't remember the last time I woke up and felt ok.
