❝ are we there yet ? ❞ all smiles , pearly teeth at full display . the subdued whirring of their quaint transportation — a car that's certainly seen better days , but how would she know ? it's moving fast and it brings her closer to dad ; that's all that matters ! — overtly eclipsed by the consistent raving and babbling of the little girl , lodged so perfectly in between the two tasked for her care since the very beginning . the fore of the vehicle houses her newest friends , the pair a newfound source of attachment . less than a day and they've already won her heart ; now , all that remains is ensuring their promise .
there's a lull in the air , looms over the squeezed in occupants with a seeming edge to it — for what , she knows not , but her anticipation , blooming and unfurling like petals to their stem , ultimately disregards the possibility of anything but merriment . she's bouncing now , fists pounding on her knees , cherished doll long deposited to the floor , breaks their shared silence in a fit of excitement's sudden revival .
