@guitdare: send 🌿 to accidentally get caught under the mistletoe with my muse. accepting.
it’s something neither of them seem fond of - something that can’t seem to reach them, either. the décor attempts to inspire cheer, the holiday spirit. much like the “christmas” version of their menus: the same yellowing and laminated things that they usually are aside from the wreath and reindeer stickers tacked to the edges.
this is his meal for, conceivably, the next few days. he usually orders off the kids menu, and it’s nice because it saves him a couple of bucks, but the waitress looks surprised when he gives an order for something in an adult portion. and even moreso when he splits everything in half and puts it in the middle of the table, between the two of them.
( in trying to be nice he makes a mistake - paints a picture of their relationship that’s something it isn’t, and he watches the waitress pull a piece of mistletoe from her apron along with the check, dangle it above their heads. he kisses noodle’s cheek to avoid any more heckling and to not be too presumptuous. )
