Don't give her too much attention, this was a curious practice doodle of mine for today where I made Renoir, an older OC of mine into a puppet! I won't lie I had to think and think over how Renoir would work in the KOM Universe considering her unique role as a gem, but I settled for one in a more magical and fantasy sense.
Don't ask me about her height either TT her original self is already tremendously tall so I'd still have to think how to translate that here. I'm sure there are taller puppets like Felix and Suru, but I'm still hesitant to make Renoir join them.
The idea regarding her role as a puppet is akin to those,, background characters in fairy tales! You know those sort of stories with a knight set off on a journey to be stronger and slay a dragon or save a princess? Along the way, the knight or adventurer would definitely stumble upon individuals to help him along his way. I imagine Renoir to be like that! Probably a magical being that helps the hero puppet of the play find his way.

UGH it hurts me to think Im making my most beautiful daughter into a PLOT DEVICE but it felt like it made sense anyway 💔I imagine she's likely associated with the ocean or the like. I was considering making her a mermaid even but that felt unfitting to a degree. It was going in the right direction! but it didnt hit the spot.
Id compare her to like, Mother Mabuka from Fran bow but nicer and whimsical. Or Granmamare from Ponyo!
I imagine Renoir to be a very mindful and kind lady, which I'm sure is obvious with her appearance. Her overall character is very serene and graceful, but bright and warm. I'd compare her having Duchess' grace while having Clara's joy. But still seperate from them since I imagine Renoir to be very Demure!
I was thinking over other qualities and how to also translate it here,, since in the original canon, Renoir is a mother. In the kingdom's story, it's probably obvious with her name, 'Mother renoir' she has children, but thats only within the story. In reality, Renoir has no children in her name. But I feel like it'd unnerve and be something that picks at her because of it.
Yknow that feeling where you dream of having children? and it feels so real and you wake up and they're not but just a few minutes ago they were in your arms? I compare it to something like that. I always feel with how the kingdom works it's downsides will shine through in making puppets feel less like actual individuals and depending on the role and story behind their role, it'd definitely affect how they see reality.
I bet that would be the case for Renoir. I also imagine her to be very motherly; she'd want so badly for her children who don't even exist. Which I can see translate in how very kind, considerate and doting she is. Not in a patronizing way either!! I imagine her kindness is very genuine. But there'd still be that want to care for someone that she calls her own.
It'd bother and peck at her so much. I won't lie, Im sure even the main cast would be hesitant to wake her up. I feel like,, for them it was very reasonable and only logical to keep puppets that are special cases like Renoir asleep and hidden away even if it was in a wooden box. The kingdom was already greatly populated and had its many troubles with its occupants. So in the past when it became abandoned and Crownus' fell, there must be an agreement to let the grand puppet sleep.
THERE SHE IS!! Hopefully she's jsut a one time thing, I'm not sure if I'll invest in her too heavily since it's a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing where I wanted to make an oc into a puppet but who knows maybe I lie and something comes up that makes me want to invest in her ToT
But hopefully that isn't the case. Or is the case! we'll see. Depends on what inspires me. GAH admittedly Im not sure if im fond of the colored doodle either,,, I started getting doubtful because the face felt off to me. Most likely because her features seem very squished,, but I like to think she's still beautiful in the end 🌹
