when i finished reading the book i just sat there for a few minutes
#ITS THERE IN THE SUBTITLE IT LITERALLY SAYS 'A NECESSITY FOR VIOLENCE' WHAT DID I THINK WOULD HAPPEN#<- thats a warning. words MEAN things as they try to beat over ur head again and again#so also spoilers for babel by rf kuang dont read if u wanna get into it but.#the first death i was like. huh. ok. things are ramping up#but then ramy????????????????? i was like oh Fuck. so thats where this is going#obviously a lot of foreshadowing goes on. literally as soon as they introduce the translate pair u think Ahhh so thatll come in handy#but to be honest id expected the play to be for them to destroy ALL the silver everywhere#thats where i believed the point about it even touching other silver (iirc?) was going#and speaking of ramy. ohhh my god. whole time i went ARE THEY???#even took a photo of one of the pages. where robin asks why hes not into letty#but by the time its finally said in words so that u cant deny it its already too late#id gotten a third of the way through on the first day. planned to do it in thirds#but i got to the third and thats when it really ramps up so i kept going. and then i finished it#ohh.............
