The second Wednesday of April (Child Abuse Prevention Month) is a statewide campaign to wear blue to raise awareness about child abuse prevention. This campaign began with a single company in 2011 and grew to include children’s service agencies throughout the state.
At my internship, I work with children who have experienced abuse. I utilize TF-CBT to help these children grow and heal through recovery. It’s tough work. Heavy stuff. And worth it to see these kids begin to process and work through the horrible things that have happened to them.
Wear blue with me today to raise awareness. Child abuse is preventable. Do your part.
