OMG. @cleurbanwinery and its award winning proprietor and fellow @lesdamescle Destiny Burns are one of the best things to happen to Cleveland Heights in such a very long time. We stopped in the other night and enjoyed glasses of Blackberry infused Merlot and it was like drinking the very best bottled autumn sunshine, especially when paired with a couple of Reese’s Peanut butter cups which simply made it the most fun wine I’ve drunk in quite some time. I mean you simply cannot go wrong with grapes, blackberries and chocolate/peanut butter…you just can’t. 🍇🍫🍷 We also enjoyed a glass of her delicious and spicy Pumpkin Patch Port 🎃which we ate with dried cranberries and blue cheese. These wines aren’t pretentious and much like Destiny herself, they’re just a lot of fun. Make no mistake mistake though, these are serious and very yummy wines she’s making. What she’s done is take away the officiousness generally associated with wine snobbery , which is why so many people who would love to drink some great wine never do. I don’t know about you, but after a year like we’ve had, enjoying myself is the most importent thing… laughing a little bit, not taking myself too seriously. I felt cared for and really appreciated at Cleveland Urban Winery and it was just the evening I needed, because after returning our kids to NYC I really needed to have some fun. By the way… it’s a very safe place to be right now. With great social distancing, state of the art ventilation and UV light filtration sanitation you can feel really confident…she’s got great Covid protocols in place. More importantly though? Just go sip some of that yummy Autumn infused Port. You won’t regret it..I promise and it’s just what you need to coax you into the spirit of fall festivities to come.
