デビルマン by Ohkubo
Manifesting season 3 so I can see more of my boy!
How the FUCK is ohkubo such a great storyteller and have amazing worlds and characters and make his worlds so intricate and explains the way these worlds work so well... But He adds lewd/ecchi shit in a scene that totally takes you out of the it the second it happens. Like wtf dude. His imagination is out of this world but still has to add ecchi shit
simple sketched fanart of Fire Force!
But for real: why is Ohkubo so angry with the moon?
Okubo Hospital by B Lucava
On April 1, I hope Ohkubo makes his Twitter avatar the Little Ogre, then spends 24 hours trolling fans.
“I’m going to re-make the first anime, and I’m going to put in needless special effects and have Crona die in the end.”
“Since people didn’t like Tsugumi growing wings and beating Shaula so easily, and didn’t like Maka beating Asura with the punch of courage, I’m going to insert Tsugumi into the original anime and have her defeat Asura with a punch of courage.”
“Soul and Maka are canon? Hell no! I’m all about Soul x Tsubaki. And I ship Kid with the Number 7.”
What if Okubo is working on a project called Soul Eater LOVE; where Soul and Maka end up together and it tells their love story in the events after the manga? It would also include other pairings.
As much as I ship, a good story depends on conflict, which poses a challenge for how to write romance that is not only realistic but does something to combat cliches and unfortunate gender/sexuality stereotypes. Given Ohkubo’s record with some representations of gender and sexuality, I’m not optimistic--but if he wrote something as good, or preferably much better, than Kim and Jackie’s relationship in the anime Soul Eater NOT! I would be up for a post-Chapter 113 manga that revealed details about life for the students.
But the story is not going to be only romance--since life isn’t only about traditional forms of love. The series would still be very similar to what came before in Soul Eater and NOT: fighting, slice-of-life, and the standard details of a sufficient narrative (conflict, varied characters, unique settings and world elements) and popular fiction (to paraphrase Ty Templeton, the story will pretty much satisfy the Seven Deadly Sins: you got fighting, you get to glut yourself on crazy-awesome aspects, and, as you are asking, you get romance).
