Travelling the Multiverse
This topic was suggested by ohmytgot
Perhaps some of you are curious as to why one would be concerned about worlds that they would consider "unreal." Why would I even want to bother learning about things I will never be able to encounter?
The thing is, such a statement assumes that you will never find yourself in one of these other worlds.
There are many ways to travel between worlds, believe it or not. Due to the nature of the Multiverse and its reliance on non-spatial "movement vectors," almost all of these methods are Magical in nature. No one method is objectively better than the other; each has its own pros and cons, and which you utilize will depend heavily on your personal style.
The most common way to travel between worlds is via Portals. Portals are man-made gateways of Magic that connect two points in the space-time continuum. Many mages utilize them in some form, whether for intradimensional transport, interplanar movement, or even true interdimensional travel. It's a rather convenient and relatively simple way to travel, giving the user more control over where and how they wish to move about. This is partly why it is my preferred method of transit, when possible.
Similar to Portals, Rifts offer another way to travel between worlds. These are (super)naturally occurring structures that allow anyone to step through them and into other worlds. On the upside, they allow those without magic talent a way to move from place to place. On the other hand, their presence can often serve as an indicator of dimensional instability, and should be closely monitored. Of note, unlike many forms of dimensional transport, these are practically impossible to control due to their nature as a force of the arcane, and care should be taken to come up with a plan in case you find yourself stranded.
Also of note, Teleportation is the instantaneous transmission of an entire body to another point in space-time. As a method of interdimensional transit, it is the quickest by a long shot, but is also one of the riskiest; you generally have limited foresight and, in many cases, control as to where exactly you'll end up. It requires a certain degree of knowledge and mastery to properly take advantage of. Many of those who use it on a regular basis have either studied it and perfected it for years or find themselves constantly entering strange and dangerous situations.
These are, of course, examples, not a comprehensive list. There are more methods out there, whether variations of the above or different ones entirely. It is important to get to know your own personal travel methods, and plan accordingly whenever you are about to leave home.
My most sincere condolences for your most recent loss, Navya. Truly, my heart goes out to you and your friends. Unfortunately, to initially venture forth without a personal interest in your quest was exceptionally foolish. Without a true purpose, you were all doomed to fail. Such is the way of this world, and of many others...
...Who are you and what have you done with TGOT?!
But if you're over here, and I'm over there, then that means that you're over there, and I'm over here, but that cannot be true, for I am always over there, no matter what the circumstances are. Then, if you are truly over here, as you say, then am I truly over there?
You know, I thought you were supposed to be good at catching things. Guess not.
"Eat a dick, hard hat! I can't catch something if you just fuckin' fastball it at me!
"...And why did you even throw this at me? It's fuckin' empty!"
(throws a can of used red spray paint at Annette) Here, catch!
Annette was struck in the head, her aura absorbing a bit of the blow as the can ricocheted off her nose and clattering to the ground.
"OW. ...What an asshole..."
dick kickem
oh my god
Hey, did that messenger who just poofed on by ever try winding back a clock to turn back time?
"It doesn't work like that, you-
...How did you even get this frequency?!"
