Those steps, Diggy was sure she was executing flawlessly as she dove down the nearest slope with full intent to bury that one little 'bot in snow!

...That is, it would have been good if she'd been just a few degrees to the left. As it were, the snow boulder never reached the target, and Diggy landed on her front, leaving a very nice imprint in the snow as she splayed out her limbs like a starfish.

"...Not. One. Word. Aough..."

“ !!! ” Tablet drops into the snow in a queasy bout of deja vu. Oh Ice knew that voice yet by the time said thought could fully register its source came careening toward him. He could only stare like a deer in headlights, eyes shut as the boulder grew closer. 

….Yet the impact never came.

“ …? “ Color him shocked when cinched eyes slowly opened themselves to find Diggy sufficiently buried at his side.

It all happened so fast Ice struggled to comprehend what exactly had transpired. Though seeing the other robot face down after a sufficient failure overwrote whatever confusion he had, uproarious laughter in its place.

“ PFFT-- Wh-what- heh-!” Words jumble themselves between chuckles,

” What were you trying to do? You’re not gonna get any work done down there! “

Navi and operator lifted their cups to their lips simultaneously. Their beverages seemed identitical at first glance, but their reactions ended up being very different.

A wince of disgust twisted Dingo's traits, while Tomahawkman looked like he'd just found the drink of the gods. He even went for a second sip, his brown drink leaving a little trace on his upper lip.

"Hot chocolate! And look, it even has little marshmallows in it!" Tomahawkman went fishing for one with his spoon. "Man, this tastes good! It's like it's giving me strength!"

"Chocolate? The hell you're talking about?" Dingo looked down at his cup. "It's mud! I feel like my whole body just got splashed by some moron who drove into a puddle, and I was standing right there!"

He noticed the white little elements in his drink, and brought one to his lips. His wince only worsened.

"That's... paper."

"HEY! Axe kid! Since it's october, and halloween's around the corner, ah'm challengin' ya' to a chicken contest! When they start opening, we go an' visit the spookiest haunted house we can find, and whoever screams the loudest in a visit loses!" Diggy, confident in her abilities as ever, is actually striking a heroic dumb pose while pointing at Dingo. "Think ya' got more guts than me?!"

"First of all, you're gonna lose, 'cause I won't scream once. Second, last time I went to a haunted house, I got kicked out for punching all the mannequins and the actors. And third, haunted houses are lame anyway, unless they're actually haunted."

"But if you wanna show me how much of a chicken you are, then sure. Let's do it."

Dingo’s old PET, fortunately still functional, with muffled recordings of the last conversation to happen in the boy’s bedroom.

It was a convenient side to having a microphone constantly planted on your person. PETs kept recent records of any sound within their vicinity, several weeks of audio content kept safely stored inside their expansive memory chips.

Maha had been anxious to get those clips, as soon as he recalled the existence of Dingo's old PET. The boy would occasionally use it again, whenever his more modern suffered the consequences of his reckless actions.

He would push the device towards Diggy, concern visible on his usually impassive traits.

"It's not much... but it's a start."

The recording started with muffled shouting. With the PET stuffed in one of the desk's messy drawers, the recordings weren't very clear. Barely enough to identify Dingo's shouting voice."

"The NetPolice’s ... your face ... wanted... Cyberworld!"

A quieter, mocking voice would reply.

"How dumb ... think I am? I ... evil genius ...on a whim! Unlike you ... think before I act!”

There was a scream. Maha had heard it several times, but it still made him shudder. After a long silence, the snivelling voice spoke again.

"Can’t have you try ... when we’re travelling. Would... shame.. landed in different places, don’t you think? ... easily find my way back… can’t ... same about you.”

There was nothing more to take from the recording. Maha let out a deep sigh, his heavy gaze falling back on the little robot before him.

"I assume that you're not familiar with the criminals that Dingo and Tomahawkman have formerly faced before... correct?"
