congratulations ohsadie, our new Clove!

Weapon of choice: Knives

Clove came prepared to any fight. She thought everything through, from the amount of pressure she’d put behind the knife to which one she’d use. All the new ones took a little bit to get used to, but the training before the arena had given her all the time she needed. It had all run up to the Feast- the hours of boredom where they didn’t kill anyone, the moment when the other two careers died and they became desperate for that one thing.

Then the announcement, that joyous cry that any two tributes from a single district could win! That meant Cato and Clove could win as a pair, could survive to see home again and bring glory back to two after this stupid trouble with the star crossed lovers. 

All those things lead up to that moment, where Clove’s knife was sliding through the skin of Katniss’s forehead, the beautiful trickle of blood out of the wound. Her monologue wasn’t practiced, but it left her lips so easily. 

Those were her last memories before waking up. The final crescendo of her memories being that big face, the fury in his eyes and the name leaving her lips. “Cato!” However, her district mate was the last thing on her mind as she ran through her final moments in her head. It was Thresh - it was Katniss. It was revenge.
