I am the number one audience for my own fic. I read it so much. I read fics that I haven't even finished yet for purely recreational purposes. Like obviously the main reason I post things on AO3 is for that sweet sweet Validation(tm), but I cannot express how much it is also just so that it exists in an easy-to-read format for me specifically.

Denny’s/Waffle House AU, fix it, fluff, and only one bed!

Denny's/Waffle House AU: B+ only because i've never heard of it but now that i know it exists i want more??? my thing with aus is that they have to really work to recreate the dynamics and intrigue w/o the original context and a coffee shop sucks because it's too twee, its not got enough different roles and possible points of contention. a 24/7 diner has a walk in freezer, a back alley to smoke cigarettes in, waiters and linecooks and customers and managers like theres just more to play with. i... iwant to write this now. it sounds so fun.

fix it: C i think. I never seek it out but some interesting concepts are kind of lowkey fix its in a way? usually though, i love characters for the trials they suffer so idr want them to avoid those.

fluff: C, im very neutral in the sense that you need some good fluffy times to make the angst worth it sometimes but just fluff is nothing to me. i almost graded this lower but i remembered my last project ended on legit tooth rotting cotton candy flavored fluff, so i cant be too critical.

only one bed: A++ i just recently waded into the dark waters of reader inserts to see what only one bed content i could dredge up... nothing good. but i wanted something. theres sort of only one bed (its not a bed but there is only one of them) in one of my gh week fics like. its intoxicating. especially long term only one bed. slowburn only one bed. is anyone listening???

Denny's - I honestly don't think I've ever come across one before. I'm open to trying it tho, it sounds potentially funny as fuck

College AUs - C, I don't seek them out but I can be convinced

Whump - C-/D+ , I like when characters are challenged, but too much just feels angsty and melodramatic in a way I don't like. i like more balance.

Fix it tropes - C+, i think it depends on what they're trying to fix - if its like, wwdits canon-divergent after s3 because s4-6 sucked, thats different than "johnny and dally live because their deaths made me sad, but this does not explore the implications of this change at all." yanno?

25. What fic do you wish you got more of a response on?

Honest to god I am thrilled with any response at all and I have everything to be grateful for between all the people I get to talk to about my/their work and the really lovely comments I receive. I have a fic that got very little attention but it was truly something I wrote almost entirely for myself and @frozenpinees alone so I don't begrudge the non-reception outside of herself and I in the slightest. If you're curious this is the fic.

32. Name three of your favorite fanfic writers.

OK this is really difficult!

five_rat_lore (@fiveroundliner) consistently writes the best smut in the fandom like, point blank period. I am kind of bashful about speaking about this stuff if im being honest so i will leave it at that but if i were less so i could genuinely go ON.

fortheknife (@spareham) has such a great gemdev series that I am actually on the edge of my seat waiting for the next part to drop even tho the last one just came out. their work touches on a lot of racial/natal alienation themes in a pretty mature/serious way that not a lot of fic does that i truly truly love. I also really like Asal and Loveland!

now, this is jumping out of the fandom that were all presumably in but Skinfull (idk their handle here, if they have one) has a collection for the X-Files that im just genuinely in awe of, it is so many damn fics, one for every episode for several seasons and i believe it is still ongoing. I went through a deep x-files phase last year and would follow along with this as I watched, good shit.

Yeahhhh I think these are the clearest frames I pulled, which are obviously not all that helpful still lol. On the first one it sorta looks to me like the first letter of the last name might be a G, but I also can't tell if that's just a trick of the motion blur.

It doesn't reeeeaaally look to me like there's anything Y-shaped at the end, but again it's so blurry that it could be just about anything tbh.
