OkaMayu needs more love from fandom.

Mayuri is kind and understanding to Okabe, and even though she didn't know everything that Okabe did to her, she know Okabe enough to worry about him. She definitely notice more than everyone realize, about changes in Okabe's behaviour, fidgety atmosphere around Lab Mems, and especially lingering desperation from Okabe. And despite all of that, she didn't push Okabe to tell her everything. She trusts him to tell her eventually, maybe after everything is over. And maybe after that, she can scold him to do every reckless thing he did. But in the mean time she will do her best to not worry him any further, and to ease the sadness that Okabe nowadays wear like a coat.

Maybe Okabe loves her as a sibling, maybe even more. But you can just see from his choices, his actions, that he and Mayuri have tighter bond than anyone. He readily will lose any of his bond with everyone if it is to keep Mayuri safe.

OkaMayu is valid and precious and fandom needs to acknowledge more of this fact.

After hearing that Mayuri was in love with Okabe in SG0, I have to ask, does this mean she was always in love with Okabe (meaning in the events of the original SG)?

Well, the writer of Mayuri’s route in ‘Darling of Loving Vows’ (who also happens to be the main writer of SG0) said in the ‘Darling’ guidebook that Mayuri has kept her feelings for Okabe sealed away for a long time, and that she wasn’t aware of them herself.

So basically, it seems Mayuri has always been in love with Okabe, but she wasn’t always consciously aware of it. As for why she realized her feelings in SG0, maybe it was simply because Okabe changed so drastically from how he used to be. This is just speculation on my part, though.
