RIP cosmonaut Vyacheslav Zudov... 2024, June 12, Vyacheslav Zudov died at the age of 82. He flew once in space onboard Soyuz 23 to the Salyut-5 space station, logged a total of two days in space. The mission ended with a hard landing during a snow blizzard on a frozen lake Tengiz! Soyuz 23 is the mission I have least photos about, my notes only show he wore a black dial watch while his colleague naval officer Valeri Rozhdestvensky wore 2 watches, a black dial and a Russian 3133 OKEAH Ocean version. Post-Soyuz 23, Zudov only served on backup crews before he retired from Russia's cosmonaut corps in September 1987. (Photos: TASS/MWU archives)
