Showcasing Okehampton Castle in Devon, part of a series of photo focus pages covering castles across the British Isles.
The earliest parts of Okehampton Castle - which reputedly became the largest castle in Devon - were erected close to the Saxon settlement of Ocmundtune soon after the Normans had completed their conquest of southern England.

Just a peek.... it’s finished. Just have to remove the blue lines. I use a solution of 1/4 tsp baking soda to one cup water. I use a water brush and swipe away. Works like a charm. This #okehampton quilt was expertly appliquéd and pieced by my friend/client Chris. Pattern is by #karenstyles from #somersetdesigns. East Okement River by Christian Hacker Via Flickr: One from a few weeks back following parts of the Tarka trail near Okehampton. This woodland path following the East Okement River is wonderfully secluded and wild - I want to return in a few weeks when the leaves are colourful. I do realise that the image is tilted to the right but if I straighten it most of the little waterfall gets cropped off - that's why I left it as it is.
Photos I’ve taken over the past year and have nothing else to do with
