Stumbling through the crowd of people gathered around Louis and Wardo’s apartment, Scotty hung his head in shame as he considered his options. He was pretty wasted, so option number one would be to leave the party, head back to his apartment, and deal with his hangover in the morning. Option number two, however, was to keep drinking and regret it when he woke up on the floor of Louis’ apartment with Ulysses sitting on his face.
He went for option number two.
It had been a rough game for Scotty. It was their last game of the season and, as proven by the scene around him, they had won. But, Scotty had been beating himself up all evening about his performance on the field, drowning his sorrows with shots while the rest of his friends celebrated.
As he made his way through the crowd, he found himself colliding with one person after another, attempting an array of slurred apologies. Alcohol and Scotty never mixed well, not that it ever really stopped him. He was young, wanted to have fun, and refused to accept the fact that he was a total lightweight. The music was blaring around him, the speakers exploding with some rather questionable music, causing him to already regret his decision to not go home.
Having finally reached the fridge - his head banging from a combination of booze, bad music, and a 400 pound linebacker smashing into him that very night - he made to grab another beer that was sure to make his predicament ten times worse, but found his hand blocked by a tiny brunette cheerleader. Laura. Lovely, sweet Laura. Smiling up at him with a look that would surely melt any man’s heart, she shouted over the music at him, mentioning that maybe he’d had enough for the night and that he should take it easy. Being the total sweetheart that she is, she pointed him in the direction of one of the flat’s bedrooms, suggesting that he should take a minute to look after his aching head.
Knowing that Laura could never do him wrong, he took her advice and stumbled through a door into one of the adjoining bedrooms, only to find himself butting heads with one of its inhabitants. As he straightened himself up, his head spinning, he found himself staring - through very blurred vision - at Louis Denver.
“Oh, bro, shi- uh… I…” he fumbled over his words, desperately trying to find the word ‘sorry’ and failing. Scotty had never been the most eloquent of people, but something about his brain always seemed to just fail in the presence of Louis.
Louis just smiled at his attempts, sending Scotty’s already weak stomach on a rampage of backflips. Scotty liked his smile. It wasn’t a sweet smile, it wasn’t even particularly encouraging, but there was something very teasing and fun about it, as though he was readying himself to make some kind of inappropriate joke at your expense. Most people probably hated that, but Scotty found it endearing.
Clearing his throat, he looked at the boy in front of him and muttered something vague about being ‘a little drunk’ and needing to lie down, prompting another suggestive grin from his teammate. Despite his own words, and the overwhelming desire to sit down and clear his head, he didn’t move. Rooted to the spot, head spinning out of control, Scotty stared at Louis, all sense of logic escaping his mind. Alcohol winning over logic, he suddenly surged forward and clumsily pressed his lips to Louis’. His hands fumbled forward, one reaching for the other boy’s waist, while the other sloppily clung onto his t shirt.
Taking it as a good sign that the other boy hadn’t pulled away, he started feeling more confident. He hadn’t ever kissed another guy before, but he was finding that he liked it a lot more than he ever would have assumed. His body shivered as Louis’ lips moved against his, his hand pressed against the nape of Scotty’s next. As their hands fumbled around, clinging onto whatever piece of clothing they could get a grip of, Scotty pushed hard against Louis, shoving him onto the bed, surprising himself as he did.
As Scotty pulled back to allow himself to breathe, he felt a new sensation as Louis lips pressed against his jaw, moving down to his collarbone. Shivering at the warmth of the other boy, he suddenly froze as realisation of what was happening hit him, and he rolled off of the other boy with a sudden gasp.
“I, uh… fuck. Shit. Bro.” That was all he could muster in his current state of mind, to which Louis laughed. He looked back at the other boy in a state of shock, unsure what to do or to say. Should he apologise? Should he thank him? He was so confused, and all Louis seemed to want to do was laugh about the situation.
He felt hot, both from embarrassment and… other things that he daren’t think about. Shaking his head, he jumped up from the bed, deciding that he had spent enough time 'clearing his head’ as Laura had suggested, and mumbled some pathetic excuse to leave the room. Fumbling for the door handle, hearing the raucous thump of the music on the other side increase, he hurriedly forced himself back into the party, though not before hearing a very faint voice in the room behind him muttering something that sounded a little like “called it”.
