The Girl’s teacher
Ata is extremely satisfied.
The goblins, as they have named themselves, are evolving quickly, and building for themselves a society. Ata is content to leave a portion of themself to watch them as they return to Okozoko. Ata reprioritizes and remembers what events they missed.
Okozoko and Ata are carefully raising the girl, endlessly discussing everything they expose her too, and everything they tell her. They want to raise her perfectly, without fully knowing themselves what is right or wrong. They begin to argue about how to teach her. Ata argues for learning by doing. Letting her see fights, and letting her stick her hand in flames. Ata argues that experience is the best teacher.
Okozoko argues for learning by hearing. He will tell her what she needs to know, enough that when she encounters what she has been told of, she will understand and react like a seasoned veteran. They debate fiercely, neither having evidence. Eventually, they come to a compromise.
Ata makes more. Ata clones the girl, and the two leave eachother, each to raise their girl in their preffered fashion. Ata’s girl is waist tall when Ata remembers what he was doing with the goblins.
