I love these HCS Surf Rods! This is the 14’1”. The other is 13’3”. So far it’s caught sharks to Ulua & Batman. But for O’io it’s a blast! It’s so sensitive even though it’s a 3pc rod that you can feel the head shakes. Comes with a carrying pouch. Remember the butt cap houses the counter casting weight. There’s also roughing pads above the connections as well. I still like my original blue prototypes better. The final product has better hoisting as Brian Kimata recommended raising the grip by 3-1/2in. But I’m more partial to the Parabolic power of the originals which is why I’m back using the blue prototypes again. I gave away a few to my good friends that were always there for me. But I still have enough of the originals to last a lifetime. So I stored all my black ones away. Personally I like to feel the power of the fish. The final product makes the fish fight itself, which is very good because of the recoil action. But I guess I’m still a bit old fashion using moderate powered rods where the entire rod length is employed. Something I enjoyed fighting Sturgeon off PNW. #hcssurfrod #okumahcsuluarod #okumahcs #okumahcssurfcastingrod (at Oahu, Hawaii) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcfA-dILwfV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
