Burr Fish. Part of the Porcupine Fish grouping of Pufferfish. I don’t want them but they always hit my baits. So I release all of them. Some anglers purposely kill them so they won’t return. A good day fishing! Kept 9 Papi’o out of 14 caught. I ran out of squid. Saw this dead fish on the shore below and threw it out on my Cedros Rod w/Surf 8K spinner. Caught this 14in Omilu on it 10min latter. By this time I had 8 barely in my cooler. As I was packing up everything I caught a crab and threw it out. Bingo! Another 14in Omilu! Great day watching the Omilus running around. Unfortunately my action camera decided to die that day. Only recorded a few pics and vids. Figured. And the audio on the good vids were horrible. Last time I’ll ever use this brand ever again. My GoPro5 lasted 5yr and never had to use my back-up GoPro 5. I had to use these as I was supplied 2 to use. The next week I returned and no Jacks. Only O’io Bonefish and sharks. Explaining what a Cold Water Reel is. It’s for usage in deep cold lakes to the PNW targeting Salmon, Trout to Stripers. This is the 553, the largest level wind for copper line. Just spooled on almost 1,000ft of 50lb Mono by Soft Steel. I intend to use this for inshore trolling the 30-50fm ledges for Wahoo. I like level winds for inshore trolling since the 70’s. I count how many times the bar goes back and forth. This way I can put a lure just exiting the white wash to one at the end of the bubbles & lastly farther behind (that one will be a bevel head w/holes for waving action with bubbles). My best day was 11 Wahoo. This is a new release for Hawai’i. Okuma’s black 2021 Ulua Sliding Rod. 13’, 2pc, in MH & H. Slightly differs from the blue GT Rod of a few years ago. I have a Solterra15 on both rods. 50lb mono by Soft Steel. With the dual thrust bearings expect to cast far with these lever drags.
