Hello everyone I hope your winters been filled with fun activities so far

And I hope you’ve just been enjoying yourself! Todays gonna be a fun post where we look at an interesting aspect of hoops & yoyos history parodies are common in popular media and Hoops & Yoyo are not safe from its clutches. Jinx & Bobo is a Hoops & Yoyo parody created by Terry Quiett as a holiday card for Southwestern College, uploaded on December 19th 2012 making it 12 years old this year! (this post was supposed to come out on the 19th but I accidentally posted it today silly me)

 The cute little skit replicates the h&yy style really well in visuals and tone, In place of Hoops is a black cat “Jinx” whos actually the mascot of the college and can be seen on promo material and as the mascot for their sports teams. Jinx is a real kitty too, look at him he's sooo cute! 

He has an interesting origin which is documented on Southwesterns website with a neat timeline of design revisions.

Bobo has no interesting history, he's just a purple bunny… So who's behind this short? Well a big name in the credits is Terry Quiett who wrote the script and animated the video. Looking him up reveals he's a musician and at first I thought it was a mistake but finding his image on the colleges site and images of his spotify they're the same dude. As for Jinx and Bobos actors they were Seniors at the time and part of the 9 Lives Laughatorium & Good Times Improvisational Comedy Troupe. Not much I could find about those 2 today other than Bobos voice actor possibly being a bank teller now. Background artist Susan Burdick still does freelance art. The Short has its own little homepage thats sill hosted by the college you can check out here.

Other site finds include an article from april 4h 2013 where the short had won the comedy category at the 5th annual Sharkie awards hosted by company Brainshark now Bigtincan apparently as a way to promote their software which Jinx & Bobo may have used. The song in the credits is Christmas time and comes from SouthWesterns own orchestra department, you can find the full video here its in slightly better quality than the youtube post.

This is such an interesting piece of Hoops & Yoyo history I dont think ive seen many parodies of hoops & yoyo out there so this one's pretty neat and has a lot of interesting history to unpack from it. This was a super fun post to make and im glad to have made a new one in such a long time! Look out for the next one thats coming pretty soon happy winter!

Merry Christmas! I'm finally getting sround to Hoops & Yoyo Ruin Christmas!

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! I originally planned to make a post for this special last year however I got scammed out of $10 on eBay and my DVD never arrived. BUT I have one now and still wasn't able to rip the DVD contents in time but thank you to @usukidoll for providing rips of every video on the disc so please check her stuff out and her wonderful Hoops & Yoyo fan site piddles.net and you can check the special and extras on the ODAD youtube channel in 1 neat playlist.

Theres not much to say about the special itself its a very oddly written thingy, its slop... but its MY SLOP! I guess to round things out ill put a lot of concept/ design pieces by Pedro Martin from his site

Hi! Happy leap day!

Apologies for the lack of posts this month, schools took lots out of me and so does this blog, I wanted to get calendars and homepages at least the other stuff I can save for later. So let's get to it with the few calendars!

The homepages are plentiful this time! Some I could not get the dates exact but I guess they are from 2006-2008) a little before the homepages had a more uniform format

Have some other February ones from last year as well
