Ukraine Protest Truck by Paula Kirman Via Flickr: Protesting the possibility of Russia having a pavilion at the 2023 Heritage Festival in Edmonton.
World Watercolour Month: 13. Valuable
I've been doing some reading on the Princess Theatre recently for work and thinking a lot about the change in its value over the last century or so. It opened in 1915 with an opulent interior, state of the art temperature controls and electronic ticketing (!!) but declined after moving from live theatre to cinema because films were difficult to get in WWII. After a stint as a retail space, it became known for "blue films" (i.e. porn) in the 70s and 80s before it began showing a mix of mainstream and independent films later on.
It's generally too expensive to visit and now is up for lease again so I've only actually seen a movie there once, but it's certainly an iconic structure in Old Strathcona.

Went outside when it wasn't too smokey yesterday and did this quick doodle of the building that Woodrack Cafe is in, I'm not sure if the building proper has a name?
