i need to get more brave and go out in egl more often ... does anyone have any tips? i'm often scared of going outside and standing out, but i genuinely love going out in egl. i also live in a south american country so people do not take more "odd" clothing styles too well.

I deeply regretted leaving this 60s dog plush behind at a second hand store, so much that I went back a few days later in hopes he would still be there.

He was! Pretty much as soon as I left the store the first time I realised how perfect he would be as a handbag, similar in style to Angelic Pretty's pony bags and milky chan plush bag.

He needed some prepping before I could convert him. This consisted of removing his awful foam stuffing, and hand washing his skin (gross!).

Here he is turned completely inside out. You can see some brownish staining, which is from the adhesive that was used to stick the foam stuffing to the fabric? Really odd.

The foam got replaced with recycled quilt batting.

For the inner lining and bag strap, I used some fabric from a pair of my pajama pants that had popped a seam.

The closure is just a simple button and loop. Since this bag won't hold much I didn't feel like it needed anything stronger.

I got kind of attached to the fabric I used after making this bag. I decided to use the rest of the pants for more matching lolita pieces.

I made this rectangle headdress with detachable ears. I thought of them as bunny ears while making the pattern, but they kind of mimic the shape of the puppy's ears too don't they? :-)

The last of the fabric is becoming a bustle and patch pockets on a skirt, though I have very little to show for that right now. Just the beginnings of the bustle panel.

I'm really proud of how much mileage I'm getting out of these broken pajama pants. I make recycling a priority in all of my sewing projects, so it feels good to have found so many ways to reuse one broken garment (which was already second hand, lol).
