Did Drillburst have any fights on G9 that he almost lost before the one with Overlord?

Each fight was progressively harder than the last, with fights 10-12 being particularly brutal. However, Drillburst was an extremely formidable fighter as is, and even though he got beaten around, he was able to tear all of them down with the brutality that had come to have been expected of him by Overlord and the rest. Do you think those tough pit fights were seasoning him for the one sided fight Overlord knew the two would have, knowing Drill so well by that point? He certainly didn’t expect the outcome if that was the case.

I feel you on the “would want to be a helicopter but would probably be a minibot” front.
